CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (AFP) - Michael Phelps, star of the U.S. swimming team, suffered his first defeat in a championship race, arriving after Aaron Piersol in the final 100M back from Charlotte UltraSwim.
Aaron Piersol, double Olympic champion in 100M back and recordmen world in this sample, won 53:32 away from world record or 52:54, followed by Phelps with 53:79.
"I have to return. I hate to lose. No matter who compete. I hate to lose "(approx) said that rarely defeated Phelps' nemesis 'Aaron Piersol in the samples back.
As a matter of fact: for a year, specifically on May 17, 2008, when he lost to Santa Clara in the 200m sample back to the same Piersol, Phelps has not lost another final attended!
